It takes one to know...

When Golding started his 'reign' harping
on 'Corruption' and digging up old and
questionable actions done by various PNP
members; one knew that he would be presiding
over one of the most remarkably corrupt
governments.

As any magician one misdirects the focus
of the audience so that we all look at
the left hand while the right hand perform
the trick.

Golding appointed people on the standard
of Dorothy Lightbourne, a puppet who would
do what he asked, and take the fall if his
machinations were uncovered.

How much Holness knew before he took the oath
of office will be uncovered in time.

His getting rid of Vaz and now Henry seem to
suggest he might not have been as much in
the loop as he thought.

We know, for a fact, that MP Hibbert took
bribes. Some of us know that MP Henry is
so filthy that not even a bath in Dettol
will clean him.

The bridge at Harbour View, built by JDIF
is a minor example of corruption.

Firstly, it was begun just before Hurricane
season. That all work was destroyed and
had to be redone added to the cost.

The cost Jamaica will have to pay over the
next decades.

That there was no tender will prove that
bribes were paid. Just as Gabay was able
to get all contracts because they paid Hibbert
the particular Chinese company was accepted
because it paid Henry.

Holness, getting his first taste of power
might very well hand every single one of
Golding's lackeys our to dry; (some in GP)
so as to gain the vote.

If he does get the mandate, if he does
realise how much money can be stolen,
he too will become as fat as Henry.

Retreat to Stupidity

Jamaican Patois is NOT a language.
It is what linguists called a Pidgin.
Like 'Ebonics' it is a haphazard
invention by those who were never
taught English; such as slaves.

Pidgins are made up of mispronounced
or misused words from the dominant
tongue along with replacement words
when one does not know the correct term.

Often there are bits of other languages
mixed into the soup of a pidgin so that
it is not of one piece.

In Jamaica there are a few words from
the Akan dialect; yaaba, fenky-fenky,
bumba, etc. As well as the 'me/wo/oona
which corresponds to I/you/us in English.

Patois was considered the 'slave tongue'
up until 1980.

English was enforced in schools and in
business and those who could not speak it
were looked down upon.

Marcus Garvey, Jamaica's first National
Hero never went beyond primary school, but
spoke and wrote absolutely first class
English.

For Jamaicans to speak standard English
would, as the experiment of the 1970s
proved, allow even the poorest to
attend High School and qualify for
University; and as education was free
the child of Kingston 13 would gain the
space that had been reserved for the
child who lived far above Crossroads.

The upper class, in the 1970s was
devastated when the helper's child
was accepted at the University of the
West Indies, and their child was not.

This is because selection was based on
achievement, not on money.

This had to change.

In 1978 there was a great push to
have Patois accepted as the Natif Langwij.

The poor bought into it.
The rich did not.

Branding on the tongue has been used in
England from the earliest days.

No matter how good someone looked, as soon
as he or she spoke one could 'class' them.

Slaves had been punished for speaking
English so that one could know by voice
the status of the speaker.

Although one might have scoffed and assumed
Jamaicans were far too intelligent to fall
for this apartheid, reality proves the truth.

Jamaicans have bought into Patois as they
did with Cash Plus and Olint, proving they
really are that stupid.

Today, it is very easy to segregate.

The uptown child can speak perfect English.
The uptown child will pass the English exams
and will gain places at the best institutions.

The downtown child can not speak English.
He or she speak the version of Patois in
their district.
The downtown child will fail the English exam
and will not gain a place save at the very
worst institutions.

Never again will the employer suffer the
embarrassment of her helper's son attending
UWI, while hers is discarded.

One would think, watching the descent of
the English pass rate from 23% at the last
G.C.E. exam to it's current 13% at the local
CXC level that the public would be up in arms
demanding their child be taught English.

No.

Patois continues to be enshrined.

Hence, the brilliant young man who can not
speak a grammatical English sentence will
be passed over for the average intellect
who can.

The ex-pat from a low level college will
gain the job that should go, and would go to
a local, if he or she could speak English.

Often, thinking they sound 'cute' or 'clever'
an educated or semi-educated person who can
communicate in English drops into Patois when
pushing forward a point of negligible value.

One will find it, for example, on Facebook
where a response is written in gibberish which
is supposed to be patois.

Some people may try to decipher, most can't be
bothered.

With Haiti so close to Jamaica, and the
clear evidence of the dangers of speaking
an 'unknown' tongue, one would have thought
that the lesson would have been learned.

The non-French speaking Haitian is condemned
to poverty.

If the upper class has its way
this will hold true in Jamaica.

Doily over Stain

Residence in Jamaica requires one not merely read
but absorb 1984.

"We are at war with Eurasia,
we have always been at war with
Eurasia"

is the kind of 'double speak' which is normal
in Jamaica, where a Labourite can hail Golding
as the Messiah on Saturday, and cast him to
the pit on Sunday without the slightest blush.

Before Golding resigned one could not say his
shoe was untied before the usual mind dead
minions.

After he resigned he was tossed onto the
bone yard, and everything that had been
said against him from 2008 - 2011 was
repeated as if it had always been evident.

With Andrew Holness hailed as the new
Messiah, the Labourites form the line,
and turn their face from a very cheesed
off Bruce Golding.

It was clear to anyone who had seen
Golding on between the day his resignation
was leaked to the media and the day he
made his his resignation speech, (8 Days)
that this was a very angry man.

This was a man who, (unknown to the lumpen)
had been in almost physical conflict with
members of his Party during the year, and
that the polls, which hailed Holness, were
seen by him as insults.

Golding surrounded himself with the kind
of syncophants who insure that his reality
does not match Jamaican reality.

His 'team' was a slapped together botch
of those who had despised him for leaving
the JLP, creating his NDM, then forcing his
way back in, much to the displeasure of
Edward Seaga.

The 'team' was not loyal to Bruce, they
were loyal to Power; and as he was the
'leader' they would be as 'loyal' to him
as they needed be.

They knew, from his entrance into office
and the 'look yonder' style that a lot of
nasty business would be going on.

To focus on PNP scandals as Government
meant that like any magician it was
misdirection; look there not here.

Having appointed Dorothy Lightbourne,
a doddering fool on her best day as
Minister of Justice and Attorney General
insured that Golding would be Minister
of Justice and Attorney General.

He needed this because he knew that
there was an intensive investigation
of the "Shower Posse" which was run
by his campaign manager, Christoper Coke.

Without Coke, Golding couldn't have run
and been elected in Tivoli.

Aware that there might be repercussions
Golding couldn't chance a person of
integrity, so shoved the very round peg
of Dotty into the very square hole of
Justice.

The indictment was stonewalled, and if
it wasn't that the Police Commissioner's
wife worked at the American Embassy it
would not have been leaked so early.

But leaked it was, for it was beyond
evident that Golding would do all in his
power to avoid extradicting Coke.

Of course, the Coke/Manatt situation was
just one of many acts of corruption.

Joe Hibbert, a trusted MP had been getting
kick backs from an English firm for years.

Questions about another MP, the somewhat
erratic Warmington and the contracts he
received were whispered.

The Garbage collection so vociferiously
proclaimed by Webly, another JLP MP was
proven a lie as TV crews filmed the
pile up.

The costs of things fell under question,
and the number of trusted persons who
embezzled funds, whether at the Ministry
of Finance, the Student Loans Bureau, on
and on.

Golding so believed in his brilliance and
immutable status he strode as a colossus
never appreciating that those behind him
weren't followers but executioners.

It was not until 2010 and the disasterous
Inquiry that those in the JLP gained their
voice, and together decided to force
Golding out.

They knew what the public believed, they
let Golding make a clown of himself with
denials.

Holness, a protoge of Eddie Seaga knew
how to create a self-destruct mechanism,
and made sure that while Bruce fell apart
his stock would rise.

Why should Holness have gained the greatest
support of the people?

The teachers hated him, he didn't so one
thing to assist education during his time
in office.

He was not a long time stalwart as Pernel
Charles or a respected Ken Baugh, he was
just there...

Unlike a Paulwell, who during the PNP's term
became the giant killer who defeat C&W, unlike
a young Portia Simpson who would stand in front
of a bulldozer, Holness never did anything.

So how did he gain so much standing?

Statistics are easy to manipulate. Everyone
who takes Sociology 101 can write a treatise
on it.

Where one does the survey is crucial, what
the demographic is; hence taking a survey
in an area which is strong for Manchester
United F.C. will turn up different results
than taking one in Arsenal F.C. territory.

All Holness had to do was get the proper
place, the proper demographics and he would
appear to be the most popular member of
the JLP.

Anyone who writes online knows how to
manipulate hits; knows that traffic is
sent to a site by Google.

If one can hit on the right Search Terms
and sort of seed the path, thousands
maybe millions of people will click on
the site and their click raises the item
higher in results so that the items on
the first page of a Google may not be
the best but have had the most hits.

This kind of self-filling simpleton rally
is the paradigm Holness used.

If the crowd is marching behind him, the
simpletons join the crowd.

Golding saw it coming and couldn't get
out of the way. He was forced out, he
didn't resign; that speech was crafted
for him and as a zombie he read it, word
for word.

Those who had gotten the early copies
of the speech followed along, insuring
he kept to the script.

The special reference to youth almost
gagged Bruce Golding. He was never a
man who thought youth some special
magic in politics.

But the reference was there to guide
the public to Holness as a

"Secret Hideout, 1 Mile"

The Party hierarchs were trotted out
to support Holness, and they dare not
buck the tide.

Mike Henry knew he was going nowhere
but the grave so didn't have to
attend the coven at Terra Nova...
the coven which could NOT be held
at Party Headquarters on Belmont
road due to the large number of
persons in the JLP who were not
supportive of this kind of Holness
coup.

For the next weeks Bruce Golding
must pose as P.M. for a Party that
despises him.

And finally he realises it.

The Resignation of Bruce Golding

On Sunday, September 25, 2011, thre was a banner running
along the bottom of the TV screen, stating that
Bruce Golding had resigned.

Then, a Bulletin cut in, the announcers repeating the
same remark in ten different ways.

Reporters on spot were trying to get information, and
there wasn't any.

The final remarks before the Bulletin ended was that
it May be true.

On Monday, 26th, the resignation was confirmed by
reporters shoving microphones into the faces of
members of the JLP who were leaving a meeting.

Let me make a Contrast here.

In 1992, Michael Manley, then President of the PNP
and Prime Minister, called a private meeting at the
conference centre to which members of the Party
were invited in which he announced his resignation to them.

Subsequently, the Nation was personally informed that
he would resign and that inter party elections would be held.

He knew he 'owed' the nation some sort of explanation,
he knew he owed his Party, those who voted for him some
kind of alert so that the first time they wouldn't hear
about it is when someone rang them up. Or they happened
to hear it over the radio.

If anything proves the complete arrogance and corruption
of Bruce Golding it is the manner in which he resigned.

Over 24 hours and he has not seen it fit to make any
statement to the nation as to why. So Speculation reigns.

Some Labourites say it is because the JLP will never win
another election with him as President and Prime Minister.
This is usually followed by silence then some kind of
touting of another candidate for Party President.

Labourites, especially those veranda sitters who are
so far from any connection to the Party they could
live in Trinidad, refuse to appreciate how the
Jamaican people viewed the stonewalling of the
extradition of Dudus, the lies about hiring Manatt,
then the abrupt about face and sending in the army
to murder the people of Tivoli Gardens, Golding's
constituency.

That Golding didn't see it fit to inform his
Central Committee, his Constituency, his
followers of his intention raises a great deal
of speculation.

Chief among them is the fact that he was
indicted by the same Grand Jury which brought
charges against Christopher Coke as a
'criminal associate'.

Those with good memories may reecall Golding's
threat to sue ABC Broadcasting for slander,
which was quickly forgotten as what they had
reported is true.

That Golding might be resigning as part of a
'deal' formed by the pleading guilty of Coke
is unknown.

What is expected is that after enought people
tell Golding that he is supposed to speak to
the public about his resignation, that he will
come on television and make a bunch of empty
remarks, many not true, then disappear into
the woodwork.

And Labourites, especially veranda sitters,
will sprain their tongues trying to match
pieces which do not fit.

The Bottom is About to Fall Out

As the Jamaica Labour Party took power in 1980 housing prices began to rise.

The market had been ridiculously depressed due to fears that 'communism' was about to arrive and if one had two houses the government would take one and give it to the poor.

People sold mansions in Beverly Hills for the same price asked for a house in Rockfort.

As the JLP took power, prices increased by 100%; and people were buying everything they saw with a 10% down, expecting a rapid turnover.

The house that had been purchased for 45k in 1981 changed hands as soon as the transfer was stamped. Some lawyers slowed the process by fixing money on 90 day calls which were paying 30%.
By the time the purchaser got the house he paid 90k for he could sell it for 240k.

Eventually there was the crash.

The over extended mortgagee could not meet payments because he couldn't get rid of the houses he owned. Others borrowed and left the country; after all, if one had paid 17k for this house which is now worth 4M, get a mortgage and leave.

Banks became the major land holder in Jamaica.
Billions of dollars of property, thousands of dollars of liquidity, and having to pay it out as interest on debentures and other investments.

In the early 90s, banks failed, properties were foreclosed and soon inhabited by squatters. The PNP government created a scheme, which, if intelligently run would have solved the problem.

Of course, being a Kakiscracy, nothing is ever intelligently run in Jamaica.

Squatting was the only way to get land for many people, and so many places turned from Middle Class areas into slums.

In some areas, one house might be captured, the owners of the others would fight to gain a mortgage so as to rent out the premises and live elsewhere or sell, below 'list value' and escape.

In some areas the prices kept going up but there was still buyers. In others it became a joke.

A Valuator, ignoring negative dirt, that is the location of the building and going for how many square foot at how many dollars per foot, insured that vacancy until dismantled by squatters was the result.

Premises in Kingston have stood vacant for thirty years. No one will ever pay more than 10% of the asking cost.

By the 2000s there was a short period of true value.
A house going for 10M was actually worth it.

By 2010 the cost of rental, of purchase became so ridiculous that there is a revolving door of tenents for property which will never be sold.

Persons who assumed they would make the bag on rentals are often out of pocket, because the in and out of renters and the wear and tear leaves many owners with unpaid electricity and water bills, damage and the need to quickly find others to bear the burdens.

With so many houses foreclosed and auctions fetching only a fraction of the so-called value, the time to act is almost over.

Where a land owner of a lot in ghetto which is used as a toilet by the neighbors is 'valued' at 1.8M, (and the only purchase offer received in the past fifteen years has been for 150k) it is clear that the Fantasy which caused the collapse in the late 80s/early 90s is coming over the horizon.

The owner of that lot could probably borrow One Million Dollars. Handing the bank his title, he can happily incur a foreclosure. The Bank, seised of a toilet will never be able to sell it for even half that price.

With money tight, with property overvalued, a defaulting on a mortgage is the wisest investment an owner can make.

The dangers of course, as seen in America, is that when the bottom falls out of housing, when money is difficult to come by, honest mortgagees who lose their job will join the ranks of squatters.

And another financial crisis will engulf Jamaica.

The Owner of the Brain

A large percentage of Jamaicans receive their
opinions from those who stand in Courtyards
outside of Party Headquarters.

Behind the closed doors of the Conference
Room leaders cut and paste and package.
Those who dwell in the Lobby hear what is
selected for them.

Lobby dwellers race into the Courtyard
to spread what they almost heard about
what they don't know.

Those in the Courtyard advise the Country.
(those in the country who have exiled their
minds to the Party), what their opinions are.

Veranda Sitters, those 'stalwarts' who have
never attended a rally, are not listed in
the Membership of the Party, who may, if it
is not too inconvenient, vote for the Party,
will 'run' with what they heard from someone
who spoke to someone who heard if from someone
who was standing in the Courtyard.

1% of the Jamaican population own fully
operational brains. They know 'how it goes'.
They know about Closed Doors, and Lobby
Lurkers, and the mob which teems in the
Courtyard

1% of Jamaicans do their own research, match
their own facts, make up their own minds.

For this 1% the 'revelations' of the Commission
of Inquiry into the 'Dudus' affair contains
little new evidence.

That Dorothy Lightbourne will be sacrificed
has long been expected.

She and Brady were frills. Only Bruce Golding
and his pet Vaz there is no one in the JLP
government who is not expendable.

The Labourites strangle themselves with
their tongues trying to match what they
heard from someone who heard something
from someone who heard it from someone
who was in the Courtyard contra what is
revealed at the inquiry, contra what they
heard last year.

Behind the Closed Doors on Belmont Road
it was long decided that the corruption
inherent in the Extradition request for
Chris Coke would reach as high as
Lightbourne and stop there.

For the past two years she has known her fate.
She has kept herself aback from National Events,
only occasionally making a fool of herself in
Parliament.

She was appointed Minister of Justice because
Bruce needed to control Justice.

She knew from the day she was offered the
appointment she was to consign her soul to
Bruce Golding. She was to do whatever he
demanded, be it legal or not.

Delroy Chuck was pushed out of the fray, made
Speaker of the House, because he would not
sacrifice his credibility to please a hollow
corrupt man.

Clive Mullins was flung onto the backbench
because he would not interpret the law to
match this season's expediencies.

Only Dotty Lightbourne would sell her
integrity for the meaningless title of
Minister of Justice while the office is
a toy of a man who never attended Law School.

Those who get their opinions prepackaged from
the Courtyard do not know that the next
installment will call for Lightbourne's
resignation, hence they continue to bleat
about what they don't know.

Only those with fully operational brains
under their own jurisdiction can appreciate
that from the moment the extradition request
was received Golding instructed his people
to suppress it.

Only the Commish, whose wife worked for
the American Embassy could not pretend he
didn't know.

That is why he was replaced.

From the moment the extradition request was
received Golding made up his mind to do all
in his power to thwart it.

Not for any legal reason, nor ideas of
rights or nationalism, but because he
was afraid of what Dudus might say if
questioned.

Golding hired American law firms, had
various off the record meetings, tried
every form of pressure he could use, to
thwart the Extradition.

He was not protecting just Dudus.
There is a lot Jamaica doesn't know about
Bruce Golding, a lot which may be revealed
at the trial of Dudus.

If Dudus lives to trial.

Golding takes us for Idiots

In August 2009 Bruce Golding, assuming the
people of Jamaica were stupider than he was,
began his mendacious plot designed to protect
not just Chris Coke, but to protect himself.

If his project was simply to prevent the
extradition of Chris Coke to the United
States, to stand trial for drug charges,
there were myriad ways he could have ensured
Coke's safety.

The easiest was having him quietly transported
from Jamaica to Brasil where once ensconced,
the police could be activated, and finding no
Coke, Golding would be able to honestly tell
the United States, he is not here.

Reports from Coke could be circulated that he
wanted to watch the 2010 World Cup from Brasil
and had gone down extra early to set himself
up comfortably.

Even though the United States learned Golding
was corrupt before the majority of Jamaicans,
(which is why they leaked the extradition request
to the Commissioner of Police, who has integrity)
they could never prove Golding told Coke to disappear.

Golding could put on his patented 'innocent' face
and lie. No one could prove that Coke had been
forewarned, so the matter would float away.

But Golding, thinking Jamaicans were stupider than
he is, began the process of stripping naked on the
wrong side of one way glass.

Golding, poor thing, never knew that any American
citizen who works for a foreign government must declare it.

Manatt, thinking it had been legitimately hired by
the Jamaican government, proceeded to act.

Why should it not think it was hired by a 'political
party' as Golding tells it, (now that he tells it, but
he never told it between August '09 and May '10)? as
no less than the Solicitor General and a member of
Government in the meetings.

That the money was 'washed' through Harold Brady's Account
is not that shocking. After all, Brady is a lawyer and
lawyers disperse funds on behalf of their clients.

Of course, the fact Golding lied about receiving the
Extradition request, lied about hiring Manatt, probably
lies about what he eats for breakfast is to be forgotten.

Forgotten in the blood of Tivoli, forgotten in his war
against the higglers, many of who live in Tivoli, forgotten
in his establishment of a Commission to Inquire into the
events surrounding the hiring of Manatt.

Like Oscar Wilde, Golding is building the case against
himself.

There must be questions asked of Manatt, questions of the
solicitor general, of Brady, and the ex-Commish of Police.

What Golding wisely ceased, was his threat to sue the ABC
news network, which leaked the fact the Grand Jury of
New York, which indicted Coke, listed him as a Criminal
Associate.

The Prime Minister of Jamaica is a Criminal Associate of
Chris Coke.

Oh how Bruce must of wished the Police killed Coke.

The Harbour View Disaster

A tropical depression that does not even have a name
causes destruction across the Jamaica.

Much of the destruction was 'Man-set". That is, if
one creates particular situations then any natural
occurrence , be it rain or storm or earthquake will
cause far greater damage than it would if it had not
been "Man-set"

The Hope River separates the Eastern part of St.
Andrew and the Parish of St. Thomas from the rest
of Jamaica.
There is no way to go from St. Thomas to Kingston.

A bridge stood across the river for decades.

Because much of the water was used in the
reservoir the river bed was usually dry.
But like most dry river beds in Jamaica, they
become raging torrents after a heavy rain.

Some are more prone to incredible surges than
others; and for decades, those government
members who were responsible had set a policy
of constantly digging down the river bed,
packing the sides, just in case

Of course this aspect of public works is the
center of corruption in Jamaica.

Just as the Mafia controls public works in
America, so that there is never an 'Appian Way',
a road built by the Romans still in use.

What the Mafia wanted, and got, was permanent
work. Permanent road repair contracts in which
most of the cost was pocket filling.

Jamaica has imitated that procedure so that
roads are never fixed, they are patched, and
those 'new roads' which take years to complete
don't last two years.

If anyone were to peruse a contract and
investigate its implementation, one would find
that three times as many workers are budgeted,
and the costs of materials are inflated.
Despite this, money must be grabbed by every hand.

Since 2007 Three Hundred Million Dollars has
filled the pocket of a particular contractor,
and the roads completed between 2007 - 2008
need to be redone in 2010 - 2011 in such
manner that they will last until 2013.

That it costs the tax payers xyz millions
to do this piece of road when in reality
it is 1/4th the cost for a better quality
is never examined.

Which brings me to the Bridge at Harbour View.

Because the river bed was not excavated but allowed
to turn into a pasture, the original bridge was
damaged. It was repaired and then largely destroyed
by Gustav,a tropical storm in 2007.

This storm would not have destroyed the bridge if
the river bed had been excavated and the banks packed.

A Bailey Bridge was flung up and a pathway leading
down into the river bed to carry heavy trucks was accomplished.

But there was no means of pocket filling with this
venture. The brilliant idea was to make the Harbour
View Road four lanes, and to remove the Bailey Bridge
so that everyone would have to cross the Hope River
by going into the river bed, which was dry.

Why this work was begun at the height of the hurricane
season, and why the fording was completely destroyed
is no mystery. Jamaica would be allowed to access
Emergency Relief Money to make the vital 'repairs'.

The Emergency Relief Money, begged from foreign donors
would make fine pocket filling as the Bailey Bridge,
removed in July would be returned to it's place and
all the money that was gotten from the Chinese to do
the Bridge and four lane highway would be double paid.

Workers would have to be paid again to redo what they
had done. Materials that were washed away would need
to be rebought and new and higher prices.

And the Government would get its cut to finance its
election campaign.

Spin

'Spin' is one of those concepts that until you
become aware of it, it doesn't exist. Once you catch it, you see it, you can classify
it, you know exactly what 'script' is being followed.

Recently, the JLP switched on 'Stumble, Shrug and
Smile.'(SSS)George W was a master of it. He'd
mispronounce a name, make a shrug and give his
shiteating smile. The effect was supposed to
be that the person or matter is so unimportant
it wasn't worth consideration. The tactic ceased
to work for Bush. People assumed he was an idiot
and couldn't remember stuff...a dry drunk.

The JLP has decided it can not remember the name;
Manatt, Phelps and Philips nor the name of PNP
candidates. This is supposed to make Manatt seems
so trivial, the PNP candidates of such little note.

It doesn't work. Not with the more intelligent.
For that is a feature the JLP has not recognised.
Not everyone has a double digit I.Q.

As Civil Society, be it Chamber of Commerce, be it
Church groups become more dissatisfied and aware
of Bruce Goldings true nature.

They have begun to appreciate that far from being
the urbane gentleman, he is a man of extremely
questionable morality. A man who can lie with a
perfectly straight face. Who has no scruples.

All the attempts to 'spin' recent events revolve
around "SSS", now that you know, you'll see it.

Who Paid Manatt?

Someone should have told Bruce.
Someone should have explained to him that American
firms must report their employment by foreign
nations (or governmental departments of foreign
nations.

Maybe use the term 'spy' so as to make him
get the fact that there is no way to lie it out.

Yeah I know Bruce is a great liar.
I know he's gotten by since short pants days
because he is so good at it.

However, he can't lie this one out.

Manatt claims to have been hired by the Government
of Jamaica and paid by the Government of Jamaica.

Since Bruce claims this is 'a lie' it is being
investigated.
In the United States.
By real people.
Who aren't Jamaicans.

The problem Golding faces is that he thinks the
whole world is Jamaica.

That every agency, every public servant, every
system whether in Washington D.C. or London, is
built on the same principles (or lack thereof)
that apply in Kingston.

He has no comprehension that some people are
actually honest.
Some people actually tell the truth.
Some people don't steal.
Some people are not for sale.

Sure, if Bruce had used some kind of 'local' firm
they'd have been die hard Labourites willing to
sell their children into slavery to please him.

But Manatt is Not a local firm.

There is no money that can drop, no threat that
can be used, no great 'I Am' to terrorise the proles.

Unless someone walked into Manatt with a brown
paper bag full of cash, then they were paid by cheque.

If they accepted a cheque drawn on Harold Brady's
account they are in a great deal of trouble.
Because Governments do NOT pay bills through proxies
unless there is an embargo.

As there is no embargo, (that is Jamaica is not
subject to sanctions so as to employ a middleman)
the cheque MUST have been drawn on a Jamaican
Government Account to prove to Manatt they were
acting on behalf of a Government.

Hence; if Manatt had been so reckless as to accept
money in a brown paper bag, or from a private bank
account, they are going to be put out of business
in America.

Would a major law firm, like Manatt, risk their
existence for $50k US?
(This sum is petty cash at a firm like Manatt).

Haitianisation; almost complete

It has happened.
Visitors now require Interpreters.

A police woman, proud of her 'langwij', told me
how business people hire interpreters.

Sitting in the court room as a police liaison
officer, (to explain why police do not attend
court)her smile was radiant.

Not just Japanese or Spanish visitors
but American and English need interpreters,
for they can not understand the 'langwij'.

And most Jamaicans can't understand them.

One has to laugh.

Why in hell would anyone want to do business
with Jamaica of all cess pools when they
can do it with Antiqua, Barbados, Trinidad...
there are twelve English speaking Caribbean
Islands?

Beaches as beautiful, if not more so.
Crime low, locals interested in education and
advancement, not sex and drugs and crime.

Why should anyone come to a failed state?

The police woman smiles, I smile back.
I don't care what language she and her
children speak or don't speak.

They aren't saying anything
anyway, nothing to listen to.

Do you need to know what the lyrics of that
song mean? Surmise; sex.

It has taken 30 years to go from English
speaking to non-English speaking. 30 years
to reach the level that visitors, be they
diplomats, businessmen, tourists, need to
hire an interpreter.

Haiti has claimed its niche as the poorest
nation in the Western Hemisphere; Jamaica
seems hellbent on challenging.

When do you stop believing?

I made up my mind I would be virtually silent
during the first 18 mos. of Bruce's reign...
too often I blurt the answers to questions
so that other people never get a chance to
think...

Not this time.

I enjoyed the Extradition Request performance
by Golding.

Bold faced lies...fed to the public, which
licked it up like hungry pigs in the pit.

Everyone knows that American citizens and firms
have to declare when they work for foreign govs.

Manatt's declaration proved beyond doubt that
they worked for the Ja. Gov. If they had been
hired by a non-gov agency; i.e. the Red Cross
they would not be forced to declare.

Yet Bruce lies.
Lies that it was the JLP which hired the firm.
Lies that the firm was not hired for Dudus.

Manatt waivers...maybe more money changed hands.
But now, with it's own ass in the clamps, it has
to prove to the US Gov. it acted legally.

So who paid Manatt?
Gov of Ja?
Dudus?
If it is the Gov of Ja; well who authorised that?
We want our money back.
If it is Dudus...
would that be the so-called proceeds of crime or
would that be from the 300M of contracts the Gov.
of Ja awarded him?
And if it is from those Contracts, how were those
contracts executed?
Was one for the road that collapsed in Portmore?

Bruce lies so well, so honestly, and his band
of thieves back him at every turn.

Although some Veranda sitters have gone quiet,
others grasp onto the image of St. Bruce
because they really can't admit how well
they were played.

We Pay Dead People

"The Chairman of the Public Sector Transformation Unit Consultative
Monitoring Group has revealed worrying discrepancies in the civil
service. Peter Moses says the discrepancies include a system where
the names of dead people on the Government’s payroll."

I could of told him that.
Some are really dead and been dead for years.
Some are actually breathing but haven't been near the office for years.

The Jamaican Government actually was paying a blind security guard.
But hey...
this is a Kakistocracy, right?

"The head of Transformation Unit, Patricia Sinclair McCalla says an
audit is now underway to find the duplications on the Government’s
payroll. However, she says the lack of adequate technology in
Government’s payroll system is making it difficult."

Did anyone expect the Government's payroll to have even 1990 tech?
How could they steal if there was some kind of master list?

They also seemed to notice the exorbitant rents paid by Ministries
and government agencies.

Hmmmm...
bet nothing will be done.
Except firing enough people to make sure the Civil Service is
really inefficient.

Swimming in a Cess Pool

When you swim in a cess pool
You keep your mouth shut.

You try to get to the edge so
as to hoist yourself out.

But you do this quietly.
Because if anyone thinks you
are going to escape
they may assume you have some
information they do not wish
to be shared.

You do this quietly.
Because you never want anyone
to ever ask you about anything.
Ever.

When you swim in a cesspool
you have to know when to look away,
when to make it clear you weren't there.

You have to learn the value of sickness
which gets you off the front line when
the scene is going down.

You have to learn what not to say, when
not to say it, and how to deliberately
miscontrue.

You have to learn when to leave the room,
when to show up, how to appear to be part
of it all, while being pushed to the fringe.

You learn what positions you don't want,
which Boards you don't sit on.
Who is not to be trusted at any time
and who can be trusted with specific
information which isn't all that volatile.

If you think that 'Whistle Blower' legislation
will get you any more than a coffin, leave
Jamaica now.

Student's Loan Bureau

As is usual in a kakistocracy the very worst people get the big posts. Over at SLB this gal stepped onto the Gravy Train and was just recently kicked off.

She ran scam on top of scam and of course, the Board was blind/deaf/dumb as most Boards are. For never forget, in a Bureacracy it is everyone else's problem and no one does anything, unless some wacked out honest person is accidentally put on a board and the others have to pretend to have integrity.

Now if this gal got 0 pay in January, (caused she'd borrowed so much and taken so many advances) in February, even Forest Gump would try to find out how is she surviving on 0 pay. Nahhhhhh...that would infer that the Board was interested in more than the pastries.

Things got so bad that the Auditor had to step in, and alas, the PNP, knowing nothing except; "If the JLP wants to dump her, we have to protect", actually said something about her Fifteen Years of Service...as if for 15 years she gave service to anyone but the guy in her bed.

That she could have gotten the post makes you shake your head. That she was allowed to squat in it for so many years pales besides the fact that there was a Board, meeting once a month who knew, and did nothing.

You know They'd walk

So, get this part...the DPP wants the guy who
took the camera video.

Now you know if he betrays his identity his
life span ends in about twenty minutes.

Did anyone think that the police would actually
be charged?

I mean just because they were captured on video.
Just because we know who they are.
Just because we saw this cop kill this man
live and direct.
Does not mean that the Police will be charged
with murder.

The guy who took the video; I'm sure there are
a few choice charges to slap on him.
And he won't slip away.
He's not a Police Officer.

What It Got Is Worse

So-called Independence Day.
Going to Central because a nervous mother
calling every minute on the minute wanted
to insure her son was returned to the lock-up
at Port Royal.

Port Royal lock-up is among the better hell-holes.

So I went to Central.
One door was locked 'for security', and I came in
the other to confront what I'd called the underbelly
of a snake.

The JCF ranks way down; maybe the Ton Ton Macoute
or the North Korean Police Force is worse, but
it can't get much worse than the JCF.

The handful of useful intelligent police would be
off on a holiday, leaving the most useless idiots
available.

The Desk Sargeant at Reception needed me to stand
at a particular point. It was impossible for her
to deal with me unless I stood right at that point.

And this is a Sargeant of Police.

I then went to Flying Squad, which did boast officers
of triple digit I.Q.s.

They weren't there, and some moronic rejects sat
quivering as if something might happen.

They were as useful as an ipod for a dead man.

At the lock up the double digits needed
Identification from me.
Apparently those at the Bar Ass have these I.D.s
which a lawyer has to present, and I don't have one.

However, after about fifteen minutes it was proven
the accused had been returned to Port Royal.

Thirty years ago, when I first confronted Police
they were on par with High School Graduates.
Graduates of real schools, or those who could
read and write and reason within a narrow band.

Today, they are on par with those from lesser known
primary schools and should not be allowed any weapon
more powerful than a pea shooter.

I can deal with them because I can deal with feral
animals. But a normal person who isn't accustomed
to feral animals, who makes the mistake and thinks
that Jamaican Police are (in the widest definition)
human, may find him/herself with little pieces of
lead in their body.

It is here, with the JCF one comprehends what the
Poll meant.

The people like the State of Emergency because they
were confronted by soldiers, who apparently are far
more civilised than the police.

The people who supported the State of Emergency do
not support the police.

It is overtime to get rid of the JCF.

Firstly, create a number of specialised units
with highly trained and intelligent persons.

Secondly, begin moving the more repellent members
of the JCF to small footsoldier units under the
command of a responsible person.

Thirdly, create Parish forces so that each Parish
has it's own mini hierarchy, i.e. the Commissioner
for St. Ann.

Fourthly, with the various units which can be
deployed island wide, the rabid useless members
would not be on their own, constantly supervised
by those who trained differently and are not
'Squaddies'.

At this point the JCF would, in essence cease to
exist, and the ability to close down a particularly
offensive batch of police would be efficacious.

If you have to deal with Police, think of them of
psychotic wildebeests. And you might survive.

Obeah

The number of Jamaicans who really don't believe in
Obeah could probably fit on a few Tour buses.
The majority believes in this samfie.

Obeah is NOT a holdover of an African religion.
No Obeah man/woman can call the names of the African
"Obi" (gods) from which the name 'Obeah' arises.

No Jamaican can explain the connection between one
thing and another...because no Jamaican knows it
or cares to know anything beyond...Where da money dere?

The first time I actually slammed into this insanity
was when I was registrar of Gun Court and was requested
by the Judge to contact a lawyer who was absent.

The Lawyer, an excellent practitioner told me the people
hadn't paid even half his fees.

I stood on the veranda and asked who was there for
(name of the accused) and a portly woman pushed up
and I told her that she better pay her lawyer so
he comes to court.

Subsequently the lawyer arrived and within a few
minutes disposed of the case as the evidence in
the police statement was incredibly weak.

The man, who had spent months in custody was
released, (he would have been released on day
one if his mother had actually paid a lawyer
to attend).

I went outside seeing the mother in ecstasy
and she was exclaiming; "Him good, him good..."
to which I mentioned that the lawyer was known
to be very good.

She wasn't talking about the lawyer
she was talking about her Obeah man.

I said; "Yeah, man, he was the only one who
could keep a man in custody for eight months."

This woman had paid xyz thousands to some semi-
literate obeah man, and had to be forced to
pay x to the lawyer.

A few weeks later a man was shot dead at the
Gun Court when he went to walk out.

Although the police and warders called 'Halt'
he didn't stop because he had on his
'Invisibility Ring' his people had gotten
from 'Mother Campbell'.

Later the deceased's family went to Mother
Campbell's balm yard to get back their money.
The police had to be called to disperse them.

Most recently, my idiot neighbour started to
keep pigeons to protect him from 'Obeah.'

Despite telling him of the 30 different fatal
diseases pigeons carry, he didn't listen.
He got sick.

I told his wife to tell the doctor that he
kept pigeons.
She didn't.

When he came home on the usual furlough before
death, I told him to tell the doctors he kept
pigeons.

He smiled that depreciating way, because I was
too ignorant to understand.

I didn't go to his funeral.
Nor will I go to the one of his wife.

Now does any one wonder why Jamaicans are so
easily confused?

So You Want To Be A Capitalist?

Jamaicans are probably the worst business people
on Earth. If it isn't a monopoly it must lose.

If it is a monopoly people try their best to
avoid paying for the product/service. This is
because prices are set on HAP.
High As Possible.
A guy could run a cable for 2k.
He'll claim it costs 22K and charge the Earth.
A guy will raise the price of fertiliser to 2k
a bag from $50 and until people stop buying,
he'll keep raising.

A Jamaican will spend xyz on decor, and Zero
on training workers.

If it isn't the minimum wage waitress or clerk
which chases the customers, it's the moronic
manager and his/her idiotic 'policies'.

Foreign based companies with ex-pat CEOs can
grasp business opportunities. Even a semi-local,
that is a person who migrated here a few decades
ago, or is the child of those who did,
understands one sets their prices to sell goods
...seeing goods as 'Dead Money.'

Where a foreign minded owner will see that the
Whatsit is still on the shelves after two months
and drop the price,a local doesn't notice this.

Where a foreign minded owner will exploit its
rival's weaknesses and enter a 'price war', the
local will make sure he sells his goods for the
same price the other charges.

It is hysterically funny to watch a Jamaican
run a business. No matter what it is, he'll run
it into bankruptcy.

Where in other parts of the world, the location
of a business is a main asset, in Jamaica it is
the 'cheapness' of the rent or the fact they own
this building so will close the rented premises,
even where the location of the rented premises
is what gets the business, not the goods.

This Bank, for example, was the only one for
over twenty miles. It had a good customer base.
But as the premises were rented the Bank moved
to mid-ghetto and customers left in droves.

Duh.

This restaurant was popular because of its
friendly atmosphere and good prices. The
manager was replaced by a gal the owner was
boffing, and prices were raised to deal with
the fall off in business. When it closed it
was only the building that sold, for the
business had no value.

Capitalists know to maximize profits and cut
losses. Jamaicans don't know where the profits
come from and what causes the losses.

Many large local businesses make much of their money
renting out their space. The products are losses,
the services are accidental, the rent paid is what
keeps the business afloat.

You know they'll raise the rent, the tenants will leave.

A business (wo)man will know her customers, and when
one of them complains, it is cheaper to give him a free
whatever than argue about the complaint.
A Jamaican will have to be right, so will make the
customer wrong, so he doesn't come back.

It never fails.

A vicious rat

Cliff Hughes proves again he is one of
the best journalists alive.

Unlike those who question and bait, Mr. Hughes has
the acumen to perceive when a guest is going to deconstruct.

Dwight Nelson has always been a very small man with
a small man's mentality. He ought never have been
entrusted with any form of power, yet, is created
Minister of National Security.

On Impact the other night, Nelson seemed
to be channeling Hitler, with his loud blather
and rudeness, refusing to allow others to speak,
and slapping away the murders of citizens, their
denial of liberty with a smugness that was terrifying.

Eventually, the other guests, Peter Bunting of
the PNP and Suzanne Goffe of Jamaican's for
Justice realised Nelson would never shut up,
never allow them to speak, and dare they try
he would outshout them.

Hence, they resorted to speaking as if Nelson
was no more than a loud nasty sound system in the background.

Other hosts would have tried to keep Nelson's
hysteria in check, but Hughes, realising it was
more important for the public to witness the
character of the man who holds virtual life
and death over the citizens.

Mr. Golding has made a grievous error in
appointment. I suggest he get a copy of Impact
aired on the 22nd and view it for his elucidation.

With this kind of madman in the seat of power,
State of Emergencies turn Jamaica into Nazi Germany.
